“One may judge a University by its faculty, its research, or its students, but the best measure is the quality and character of its alumni, as reflected in their professional achievement, in their citizen service, in the way they live, and in the values by which they live.”

Message from the Dean

We are proud of our family of 70,000 Engineering alumni around the globe that continue to impact humanity in ways too numerous to mention. We value you as alumni and we promise you a lifetime of relevant and practical alumni services.

You have the potential to make a difference in the lives of the generations of engineers that follow you. How? By staying connected and engaged with your department, the College, and your student organizations through your personal support, mentor programs, career support, and personal interaction at department and college events, you can make a significant, positive impact.

I hope you will think about the alumni that you met during your time on campus. Perhaps it was a guest lecturer in one of your classes, someone who reviewed your resume or conducted a mock interview, or someone who helped you choose your field of study and career path.

  • If so, you truly understand how important and beneficial this support and interaction can be
  • If not, you truly understand how important this support could have been

Much of what we accomplish in our lives is because of the relationships we build.

In an effort to facilitate stronger relationships with our Engineering at Illinois alumni, I am pleased to announce that the College is on the cutting edge of alumni relations with a new, online community exclusively for UIUC Engineering alumni and (in the future) students. This secure online forum is called ALWAYS ILLINOIS.

ALWAYS ILLINOIS empowers you, our Engineering alumni, to maintain lifelong friendships, to stay connected with your department, the College, and your student organizations, and to network with other Engineering alumni in a secure global environment.

Every day you must ask yourself how you plan to further expand your knowledge to stay competitive in today’s scientific and economic environment. Through Continuing Engineering Education and Engineering Career Services, we are here for you and will continue to support you in all of your stages of professional and personal growth.

We look forward to your lifetime commitment to excellence in your professional achievements, personal accomplishments, and community leadership...all of which reflect the global eminence of your Illinois Engineering Education.
